Col Yanello served as an active duty United States Marine from 1975 through 2005. Primarily a Helicopter pilot he has commanded at both the squadron and major installation level, to include Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC and has served at the Service headquarters and on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. During his 30yr career he has been on numerous Mediterranean deployments and has been in conflict in the Persian Gulf. While stationed at the Pentagon from 2000 to 2002, he also served as the senior briefer in the National Military Command Center shortly after the events of Sept 11, 2001.
